The ninth-season American Idol runner-up has gotten engaged to musician Brian Walker, People reported Friday.Bowersox and Walker plan to wed next month, according to her representative.
The wedding will be the first for Bowersox, who has a 1-year-old son from a previous relationship and split with former boyfriend Tony Kusian the morning before she took the stage with Lee DWyze for American Idol's final ninth-season performance show on May 25.
While Bowersox initially described her split with Kusian as a "mutual" decision based on his desire to maintain their prior "small town" lifestyle, she later admitted it had surprised her.
"[It] did shock me," she said. "I woke up Tuesday morning and he just had an epiphany. He wanted a simple, quiet life and I respect that. I'm glad he told me instead of sticking it out and realizing it later that he would be unhappy."
The 24-year-old from Toledo, OH signed with 19 Recordings/Jive Records after Idol's finale. Her debut album will be released this fall.
John McCain may be “Gray wrinkled hair Old Dude” but his daughter Meghan is a Hottie
Meghan, 23-year-old blonde daughter of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, is “a total Daddy’s Girl.” She also seems to be a little handful. As a rebellious teenager, Meghan admits she once almost became a Democrat.
Instead she registered as independent, but two months ago, as a Father’s Day gift, she reregistered as a Republican. “I do not refer to the right. I think it is common knowledge. It’s time to reinvent the Republican Party. I think my dad can do it,” she says.

With high school in session, many are curious about the top homecoming hairstyles for 2010.
It is difficult to change the hairstyles each year, but homecoming hairstyles are some of the most popular trends among high school girls.
There are various homecoming hairstyles one can choose, but for the most part, they are either pinned back hairstyles, casual updos, wavy hairstyles, braids, headbands, or ponytails.
While homecoming hairstyles are a popular trend, it should be noted what the occasion actually represents. Homecoming is a time to welcome back former residents or alumni of a particular institution. Students usually take the event overboard and recognize it as a time to celebrate the football season. Either way, it is extremely popular across high school and college campuses.
Several web sites, including 2hairstyles.com and beauty.about.com, offer pictures of some of the more popular homecoming hairstyles for 2010.
Most girls have to book their appointments weeks in advance, as homecoming hairstyles become a hot commodity around this time.
Aside from the dance that is usually celebrated in honor of homecoming, most schools also have a parade and a barbecue depending on the weather.
With homecoming season happening now or nearing for certain schools, make sure you are up to date with the top homecoming hairstyles for 2010.
The Deutsches Haus, which this month hosts its last Oktoberfest celebration at its current Mid-City location, is not the only place in town to get your “oompah” on.
Throughout the month, Avenue Pub (1732 St. Charles Ave.) will pour a rotating selection of German brews, such as Schneider Aventinus, Ayinger Oktoberfest and Spaten Munich dunkel lager. Every Friday at 5:30 p.m., the bar will also tap a rare mini-keg of unpasteurized beer from the tiny breweries of Germany’s Franconia region. Only 225 of these kegs were imported to United States and most went to larger cities like New York, Chicago and Washington.
On the north shore, Covington’s Heiner Brau holds its 5th annual Oktoberfest on Friday, October 8, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 9, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sample German cuisine, hear Julie Council and her band, and try the beer of German-trained brewer Henryk Orlik, including his seasonal “festbeir.” The festivities take place at the Covington Trailhead across from the brewery (226 E. Lockwood St.).

Hedge fund manager David Tepper has generated $12.5 billion since his firm Appaloosa Management launched in 1993. That makes him one of the top ten moneymakers in an industry known for its enormous returns.
But the camera-shy investor is hardly a household name like George Soros or John Paulson. Indeed, a CNBC anchor compared Tepper to the elusive Carlos the Jackal and joked that he did not know what the fund manager looked like during Tepper's rare television appearance Friday morning (see video below).
And perhaps because of his status as a recluse, his strongly bullish statement of support for stocks carries a special punch. Tepper's reasoning is simple but persuasive. If the economy picks up steam, stocks should continue to rally. A relapse, meanwhile, would provoke further stimulation by policymakers -- and that should boost equities in the intermediate term too.
Tepper doesn't pretend to be overly meticulous or exhaustive. "I am the animal at the head of the pack," he said in a widely circulated description of his investment process. "I either get eaten, or I get the good grass." In financial markets packed with endless reams of data and perpetual analysis, though, Tepper's ability to see the forest for the trees may ultimately be the most persuasive aspect.

The Liberal media smears John Boehner with rumors of infidelity. Is Lisbeth Lyons Boehner’s mistress? There are reports being hyped in the media that the lobbyist is having an affair with the House Minority Leader. Read about it below and see a photo and videos to see how both Lyons and Boehner react when confronted with the question
The liberal media has John Boehner in its cross-hairs. It started with the President, Barack Obama, mentioning him numerous times in recent speeches. Then the left leaked that Boehner is a smoker. He was confronted by the press about smoking cigarettes and he owned up to it. No one seemed to care. After all, the President is a closet smoker. That story flopped, so then they spread rumors that he used a tanning bed. Oh, the shame! Again, no one cared. Now its been taken up a notch and the notoriously partisan Daily Kos is floating the rumor that Boehner has been having an affair with Lisbeth Lyons, Vice President of Government Affairs for the Printing Industries of America.
An activist blogger at the Daily Kos and Huffington Post confronted Boehner yesterday shortly after Boehner unveiled his ‘Pledge to America’. He asked him if he was having an affair with Lyons. Apparently, he then called Lyons and asked her about the alleged affair. You can see both of their responses to Stark in the videos below. The story got more momentum when it was picked up by the New York Post’s Page Six.
TAMPA, Florida — Jamaican Reggae singer Buju Banton will have to wait until Monday to know his fate as the 13 member panel of jurors have yet to come to a decision.
The jurors are expected to resume their deliberations at 8:45 Monday morning.
Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, has been in jail for nine months and 14 days after being hauled out of his Tamarac home in South Florida on December 10 last year, two days after his co-defendants Ian Thomas and James Mack were held during a drug bust at a police controlled warehouse in Saratoga, Tampa.
Both signed plea deals and agreed to testify against Myrie in exchange for lesser sentences. However, none of the two took the stand as Mack pleaded the fifth amendment and neither the prosecution or the defence found Thomas' testimony to be of any assistance to their case.
Two weeks ago Mack signed an affidavit saying he never knew Myrie until after his arrest and that the artiste had no knowledge of a firearm and US$130,000 that was found in a Honda motorcar he was driving.
Myrie was reportedly offered a two-year prison term but refused. He has consistently maintained his innocence and claimed that he was entrapped by Government informant, Alexander Johnson.
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Fox News host Megyn Kelly were pretty steamed earlier about Stephen Colbert's testimony earlier today on behalf of the United Farm Workers Union. "I think it's an insult to the time, an insult to the intelligence of the American people," King said.
Kelly agreed: "Many people perceive that as a huge waste of your time and our taxpayer dollars."
But King also suspected there was something more nefarious afoot in Colbert's testimony. After watching video of Colbert's day working as a migrant farm worker, King concluded: "The video looks to me like it was staged." He added: "He didn't do real work. They said it was hot, it was hard. I saw no sweat."
Perhaps King was simply angry that Colbert responded to similar accusations in the hearing that, on the farm, he "was packing corn. I was a corn-packer," before adding: "I know that term is offensive, to some people, because corn-packer is a derogatory term for a gay Iowan.
It was certainly no surprise to read this morning that Jeff Zucker's new Comcast bosses gave him the ax, since the NBC Universal chief executive had presided over a series of high-profile debacles, notably the hiring of Ben Silverman to run NBC, the network's precipitous drop into last place, the whole Conan O'Brien-Jay Leno late-night disaster and the long run of executive turmoil and box-office flops at Universal Pictures.
Nor is it any surprise to learn that CNN U.S. President Jon Klein is out today as well, after failing to figure out how to stop the cable news channel's continuing ratings slide. But what do the two events have in common? It's yet another example of how quickly the public has lost its loyalty to what were once dominant mainstream showbiz brands. The most startling statistic I saw in the stories about Zucker wasn't that NBC Universal generated roughly $2.3 billion in profits last year; it was how little NBC figured into the revenue picture: 80% of those profits came from the company's cable division.
While the media has focused on Zucker's high-profile failures, he has had success, but it came almost exclusively in the cable arena, where NBC made huge profits from such channels as USA, Bravo, Syfy and Oxygen, along with strong showings from its CNBC financial business channel and MSNBC, which has recently logged record profits. In today's showbiz America, the old brands are slowly dying while the real action is in niche-oriented cable channels, which are killing the cobwebby old network news shows and, for the most part, creating far more buzz and excitement with their entertainment shows than network TV.
In fact, what has hurt CNN the most under Klein's tenure has been its public perception as the most mainstream cable news, the channel that planted itself right in the middle of the road, as if it were a network news outlet. In news today, viewers don't value objectivity--they're in the thrall of colorful opinionators like Glenn Beck and Keith Olbermann. So it is the channels that have staked out clear-cut niches, Fox News on the right and MSNBC on the left, that have flourished by unabashedly playing to their specific political followings. It's no surprise to see that Klein is being replaced by Ken Jautz, head of CNN's tabloid-oriented sister channel HLN (formerly Headline News), which has enjoyed ratings success by playing to its own specific niche, with rabidly opinionated hosts (like Nancy Grace and Joy Behar) and heavy crime and celebrity coverage.
There's no guarantee that Zucker or Klein's successors will have any instant success turning their troubled companies around. But at least they will be steering their businesses in a more potentially viable direction. Under GE's ownership, NBC too often echoed the GE mass appeal approach to wooing consumers. But now that it's owned by Comcast, which has been a powerhouse in the cable business, expect to see NBC establishing itself in even more niche-oriented businesses. In showbiz, if you're in the middle of the road, it simply means you might get run over from either side of the information highway. The future of the entertainment business, whether it's in television or on the Web, is all about grabbing your loyal core audience and holding on to it for dear life.
Just as Pop Tarts experts predicted earlier this week, Lindsay Lohan was ordered back to jail this week for a third time – and what is most likely to be her longest stay, after failing a court-appointed drug test.
In a hearing Friday morning, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden Fox denied the troubled actress bail and ordered that she remain in custody until the next hearing on October 22, at which point she may have to serve even more time behind bars.
“This is becoming is an increasingly common practice among judges in L.A – if he had sentenced her to a particular time such as 60 or 90 days the sheriff would have kicked her out after a few days due to prison overcrowding, but because he didn’t sentence her to a particular time without bail she has to stay in,” Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney Mark Geragos told Pop Tarts. “At the next hearing, the Judge has an array of alternatives – he can either sentence her to more time in jail, or rehab.”
The 24-year-old was handcuffed and escorted in an unmarked police vehicle to the Lynwood Correctional Facility immediately following Friday’s court appearance, the same facility she recently served time for violating the terms of her 2007 DUI probation.
Geragos said that Lohan’s conditions are likely to be similar to her last stay, although authorities may make an extra effort to segregate her from the other prisoners as they know for certain that she will be there for at least 30 days.
And it seems several California legal experts agree, nor are they surprised by Fox’s decision.
“It was a very fair call, Lindsay keeps playing the system and doesn’t seem to get it,” Santa Monica-based Criminal Defense Attorney Steve Cron said. “She chose to continue using drugs even though she was being tested, and this is the price she has to pay. Even ‘good behavior’ won’t get her out over the next four weeks, she is actually going to have to properly serve time.”
Geragos concurred that Fox had no alternative but to deal the “Mean Girls” star the harsh sentence given her history of bad behavior.
“It’s unfortunate that the way the court system is set up we criminalize addiction, but Judge Fox is one of the best judges in the county and he knows exactly what he’s doing,” Geragos added.

Not everyone is as wild about the GOP's latest "Pledge to America" as House Minority Leader John Boehner. (Click through the next page to read the document in its entirety.)
While liberals have predictably slammed the Republicans' plan, unveiled Thursday, to fix the country, the pledge is getting mixed views from conservative pundits, some of whom argue the 21-page document is all bark and no bite.
Conservative blogger Erick Erickson called the pledge the "most ridiculous thing to come out of Washington since George McClellan."
Erickson blasted the document for not providing specific, long-term solutions.
"Yes, yes, it is full of mom-tested, kid-approved pablum that will make certain hearts on the right sing in solidarity," he wrote on his blog, Redstate.com. "But like a diet full of sugar, it will actually do nothing but keep making Washington fatter before we crash from the sugar high."
The pledge gathers familiar talking points for Republicans, such as cutting taxes and slashing government spending. It comes at a time when the GOP is gearing up for the midterm elections and hoping to gain majorities in Congress.
NEW YORK: Madonna walks the pink carpet with daughter Lourdes Leon at the collection launch of their new fashion line, Material Girl, at Macy’s Herald Square on Wednesday (September 22) in New York City.
The mother-daughter duo was accompanied by the face of the line, Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen.
Material Girl was designed by Madonna and Lola along with Iconix Brand Group’s in-house fashion department. The collection includes apparel, footwear and accessories including handbags and jewelry!
Madonna is well known for her pursuit of eternal youth, but one of her tricks for staying youthful is well within the ordinary mortal's grasp.
The 52-year-old giggled much like her teenage daughter Lourdes Leon Ciccone as she admitted to borrowing clothes from the 13-year-old's wardrobe.
The mother and daughter designers teamed up in New York to launch their Material Girl clothing line.
In a rare joint interview on the pink carpet - not Lourdes favourite colour she admitted - the pair opened up about their differing taste, and stealing from each other's no doubt enviable wardrobes.
Lourdes, 13 and Madonna, 52, spoke at an event at New York store Macy's promoting their co-designed Material Girl clothing line.
And it's clear that the daughter of the pop icon is vying to win style plaudits of her own.
Lourdes looked cool in a black leather studded biker style jacket from the clothing range, plaid shirt - which her mother said she disliked - and artfully ripped tights.
WASHINGTON: US court has issued 86 years sentence to Dr. Afia Siddiuqi on seven counts including attempted murder, Geo News reported Thursday.
"It is my judgement that Dr Siddiqui is sentenced to a period of incarceration of 86 years," said judge Richard Berman.
Aafia Siddiqui, 38, denounced the trial and said an appeal would be "a waste of time. I appeal to God."
“I want no bloodshed over my conviction and sentence,” Dr. Afia who was present in court said after the announcement of the sentence.
Reacting angrily to the news, Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr. Afia, at a press conference blamed Pakistani rulers for the sentence. “They (Pakistani rulers) failed to honour their promises to bring Dr. Afia back to Pakistan,” she added.
It's difficult to gauge the full power of the autostereoscopic 3D from a video, but, as with Sharp's parallax barrier technology, you can see how Scaleform's glasses-less 3D works. The video presenter's "ooh! ahh!"-ing just endorses it even more.
NetbookNews.com visited the Scaleform booth at Nvidia's GPU conference, where they were showing off a Tegra-powered tablet, running on Android, that produced a 3D UI effect without requiring glasses. They claim it'll be heading to Nvidia smartphones and tablets running Android next year, and even mentioned something intriguing about "supporting [Nintendo's] 3DS." [NetbookNews via CrunchGear]
Jupiter - Happy equinox to all! The 2010 equinox falls at 10:09 p.m. on this Wednesday evening, according to clocks set to Central Daylight Time in the U.S. That translates to 3:09 a.m. tomorrow – on Thursday, September 23 – Universal Time. So some calendars will show today as the equinox, and others will show tomorrow. But for all of us, around the world, a seasonal marker is here.
Everything you need to know about the autumnal equinox of 2010
Here are some sky highlights of this 2010 September equinox. If your sky is clear, you can glimpse an almost full Harvest Moon in the east after sunset on this equinox evening. The crest of the moon’s full phase will come only 6 hours after the exact moment of the 2010 September equinox – in early morning tomorrow for the U.S. and Europe (4:17 a.m. Thursday morning Central Daylight Time, or 9:17 Universal Time).
This is the northern hemisphere’s legendary Harvest Moon and the southern hemisphere’s first full moon of spring.
What’s special about the Harvest Moon?
What’s more there’s a blazing starlike light near tonight’s moon. It’s the solar system’s largest planet Jupiter, which just yesterday reached its opposition – when Earth flew between Jupiter and the sun.
The full moon won’t fall on the September equinox again until the year 2029. And Jupiter’s next comparably good appearance on the September equinox won’t happen for another 12 years.
By the way, the sun sets due west on this day of the equinox, the first day of autumn for North America. Many people write to us around this time, trying to comprehend how that can be so. And it is really tough to understand without a three-dimensional visual aid – maybe one of those plastic celestial globes. Just remember, we all see the same sky. And on the day of the equinox, the plane of Earth’s equator is intersecting the ecliptic – or plane of Earth’s orbit around the sun. That’s a fancy way of saying the sun is on the celestial equator. This celestial equator intersects your horizon at points due east and due west. And that’s why today – September 22, 2010 – the sun rises due east sets due west as seen from all across the globe. That makes today a good day for finding due west from your yard or other favorite site for watching the sky.
So happy equinox, and enjoy Jupiter and the nearly full Harvest Moon tonight! They will rise at sunset on this 2010 equinox evening and shine in the sky throughout the night.
Michael Dell - The Dell CEO revealed the 7-inch tablet for the first time at the Oracle Openworld conference in San Francisco.
Dell said on Wednesday it is developing a 7-inch tablet as it experiments with handheld devices with different screen sizes.
CEO Michael Dell showed off the tablet for the first time on Wednesday at the Oracle Openworld conference in San Francisco.
The tablet is just a prototype, said Matthew Parretta, a Dell spokesman. He could not a provide a release date or pricing for the device.
Dell is looking at different scenarios for using its mobile devices, and the tablet will ship if customers ask for it, Parretta said.
The introduction came as Dell tries to make its presence felt in a tablet market dominated by Apple's iPad, which has a 9.7-inch screen. If Dell releases the tablet, it could compete with Samsung's recently announced Galaxy Tab, which also has a 7-inch screen.
Dell has already released a mobile Internet device called the Streak, which has a 5-inch screen and voice features. The device runs on the Android OS.
DAVID Beckham has angrily denied claims he slept with a prostitute insisting he could only ever be unfaithful to his wife with a contractually branded tart.
The England superstar has been hit by accusations he enjoyed a triangulated romp in a New York hotel without the consent of Adidas, Motorola or David Beckham by Giorgio Armani.
Beckham has now launched a legal action against a US magazine, insisting he has never entered into a sexual intercourse arrangement with any woman other than his officially sponsored wife.
A source close to the 35 year-old LA Galaxy marketing strategy said: "I just can't see David having sex with a prostitute, because the prostitute would have to pay him for endorsing her vulva.
"And even then there would have to lengthy consultations with his management team about which holes were used, a watertight penetration contract and Adidas would insist on having lots of complex insurance policies in case he falls off half way through and does his cruciate ligament again.
"And of course there would also have to be a five year global copyright agreement covering any grainy, CCTV images of his naked, heaving buttocks."
The source added: "I can see him doing a TV ad for Adidas where he's at a trendy sex party with lots of other celebrities in a Manhattan loft.
"And I'm sure he would do something with Motorola if they ever get round to releasing their 4G bluetooth prostitute.
"But it would be very tasteful. All black and white and shimmering thighs with a slogan like 'Intercourse. Everywhere."
Inter Milan - Bari coach Giamperio Ventura believes the match against Inter resembled a training run, as the Biancorossi were defeated 4-0.
"For them, it was like a training run," Ventura told Sportal post-match. "They are the European champions, and they showed why they are this evening."
Ventura hoped the Galletti would have done more, despite being brushed aside.
"Our match lasted one minute. This game will make us reflect on a lot of things. If we believe to be able to play on the same level as Inter, we will lose."
Bari take on Brescia on Sunday in their next match.
FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--German automaker Daimler AG (DAI.XE) said Wednesday it isn't bidding for Fiat SpA's (F.MI) industrial unit, dismissing a report by Italian daily La Republicca.
"There are no talks with Fiat," a Daimler spokeswoman said.
This comes in response to a source story in Italy's La Repubblica Wedensday stating that Daimler was interested in buying Fiat Industrial, the trucks and agricultural equipment maker that the Italian car maker plans to spin off into a separate unit in early 2011.
According to the newspaper, Daimler had floated a preliminary offer of EUR9 billion for the unit, while Fiat wanted EUR10.5 billion and for any transaction to take place after Fiat Industrial shares are separately listed next year.
The White house is looking for a replacement for Larry Summers who was serving as a director of ‘National Economic Council’. An official announcement by the Whitehouse has declared that Summers will return to Harvard. He was considered the most influential economic adviser in Obama’s team. His replacement might have been caused by the high unemployment rates or slow pace of economic recovery from recession.
Larry Summers had previously worked with the Clinton administration as ‘secretary of treasury’. Summers was being criticized for his Wall-Street connections. He is third high official to depart from the economic advisors.
Due to the current situation of the economy democrats are expecting a low response from the voters in the upcoming elections. The departure of Summers may be attributed to political reasons as people have lost confidence in Obama’s govt. regarding its ability to revive the economy. Moreover Summers was required to return to Harvard to secure his tenure over there.
Larry Summers had resigned from the post of President of Harvard in 2006 amid controversies. He was mostly criticized for his comments about the abilities of males to excel in Science and Mathematics. He will return to Harvards as a professor and is planning to write about Job creation and how to integrate developing countries in global economy. The departure of Summers will create a vacuum in the economic team of Obama administration. There are rumors that Obama would like to fill in the vacancy by a female economist or CEO. Ann Fudge and Dianna Farrell are the most prominent potential candidates for the job.
Women execution is not really a common felonious practice around the United States of America but the year of 2010 will be remembered as the year in connection with the Virginia woman execution. Virginia woman execution will be the first execution in centuries for the women living in US and specifically in the state of Virginia.
Virginia woman execution is scheduled tomorrow, that is on the twenty third day of September ’10. It has been decided by the Supreme Court that the forty one year old Lewis will be put to slow death by giving her an injection which contains poison.
The reason behind execution of Lewis is that a couple of years ago, she intentionally killed her teenage step son and her husband with a gun; not because she was out of her senses or she hated them, in fact she wanted to get the insurance money so that she
could move to New York and enjoy a lavish life. I wonder how a lady can live comfortably with riches after killing her family members with her own hands. The lawyers of Lewis are repeatedly telling the court that the Lewis is not a mentally stable person. Her brain capacity is that of a thirteen year old child and with such a mental calibre, she killed her husband and son which means it was all unintentional and she was not aware of what she was doing. The Supreme Court has not taken into account the justifications of Lewis’s lawyers and has firmly ordered the Virginia woman execution.
London Fashion Week is on its peak and getting a lot of popularity across the globe. Sarah Jessica Parker who was seen very emotional yesterday during the memorial ceremony of Alexander McQueen but she quickly wiped her tears to get herself back in front of camera and made her appearance in this famous annual event of the United Kingdom. She was there at this famous event which is known as London Fashion Week and some are saying that she was looking like glossy perfect personality today. She got much popularity after making her appearance in “The Sex and the City” that took her really at the height of fame all over the country. There were some other famous personalities like Alexa Chung, Donna Air and Cat Deeley along with Parker.
One of the big names of Tennis world was also there in the London Fashion Week. This name was Serena Williams who made her appearance there along with Andy Murray (another Tennis star). It is being said Kim Sears (girlfriend of Andy Murray) was also there in the list of attendees along with Chloe (daughter of Sir Phillip Green) and Peaches Geldof.
One of the saddest or funniest incidents of this London Fashion Week was the fall of a model of the show who could not control her walk in high heels and people saw her falling on her knees. She then quickly got up and got rid of her high heel to continue her walk.
The democrats have failed to materialize the dreams of nearly two million youths to obtain permanent residency in United States. The senate vote on dream act 2010 was not favorable. The vote turned out to be 56-43 that means instead of winning the support of two republican senators, the democrats lost the support of two democrats. The timing of voting was criticized by people as best suited to win the support of Hispanic immigrants in the coming elections. However the stunt failed and dream act 2010 status is unchanged.
The democrats might seek the approval of the bill after November elections if numbers are favorable. The dream act would have legalized the young immigrants who had stayed in United States for pat 5 years had attended a college or served in military for 2 years. The act would have benefited only those immigrants who were less than 16 years of age upon their arrival in US.
Obama administration was lenient on deporting the young illegal immigrants in a hope to get the bill passed. The democrats think that the educated immigrants have a potential to contribute for the development of the country. The democrats criticized the republicans for their non approval of the bill.
Young immigrants were disappointed over the dream act 2010 status. Some political commentators think that the dream bill was wrongly attached with the “don’t ask don’t tell” bill. The dream act 2010 status will mobilize the young activists to fight for a legal status in United States.
Not only the celebrities should be careful about not getting themselves into acts which could put down their reputation but those who are closely linked to such celebrities such as their parents, children, siblings and spouses should also take deep care while indulging them into any sort of acts which are not truly appropriate. Any wrong action committed by them can bring a bad name to the celebrity they are linked to because media is without any doubt influential and is always keeping an eye on gathering such news which they could present to the public in a crispy and enjoyable manner.

Bishop Eddie Long Scandal – Two men have alleged that they were sexually coerced by one of the most prominent Baptist pastors in the Atlanta area, Eddie Long. The suits were filed on Tuesday in DeKalb County, Georgia, and state that they were coerced by Long into performing a number of sexual acts. The suit said that Long made a habit out of selecting small groups of young male church members and using his authority over them to intimidate them into engaging in a sexual relationship.
He is considered to be one of the most prominent black pastors in the nation, and this will certainly be a spot on his previously stellar career. The pastor reportedly took Anthony Flagg, 21, with him on a number of overnight trips to different cities in the US. The two of them reportedly shared a bedroom on the trips and Long initiated sexual contact through coercion.
The other plaintiff, Maurice Murray Robinson, 20, was taken to Auckland and New Zealand with the pastor for his 19th birthday. Long allegedly convinced the young man to engage in sexual acts with him as well during these trips.
A spokesman for Long said that the allegations were not true, and that Long was upset that the boys would take this route in an attempt to receive money from him.
“It is unfortunate that someone has taken this course of action,” said a spokesperson for Long.
Long has yet to release a formal statement about the allegations against him, but representatives for Long have categorically denied the claims.
In the tweet heard 'round the world, Lindsay Lohan confirmed late Friday that she'd failed a court-ordered drug test – an outcome that could send her back to jail, under the terms of her probation. TMZ.com reported that the actress had also tested positive for cocaine last week.
Now Lohan's probation has been revoked, and a bench warrant has been issued for her arrest. The warrant is on hold until 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, when the 24-year-old actress has been ordered to appear in court.
"A judge will routinely revoke probation when he receives a report from a probation officer, under oath, that the probationer has violated a condition of probation, such as illegal drug use," said Dana Cole, a criminal defense attorney and partner in the law firm Cole and Loeterman, in Los Angeles.
For men, problems in the bedroom are now part of an open conversation. Dozens of TV and radio channels offer advice on treating erectile dysfunction and talk about "erections lasting longer than four hours." But advertisers seem squeamish over airing an ad for a female sexual arousal equivalent.
The market for erectile dysfunction drugs is estimated to rake in more than $3 billion a year in the United States. The makers of the "big three" -- Viagra, Cialis and Levitra -- spent over $300 million in advertising alone in 2008, according to Forbes.com. Levitra and Cialis have even scored Super Bowl ad space.

Twitter repaired a hack Tuesday that caused mischief to spread on through its short-messaging service, as mysterious "tweets" of blocked out text propagated themselves and caused popup windows to open for thousands of users.
Security firm Sophos posted a blog earlier Tuesday identifying the problem, which Twitter identified and fixed.
According to CNET's Caroline McCarthy, here's how the hack worked:
"By putting a bit of JavaScript code ("onmouseover") into a URL in a tweet, a user can cause a pop-up message to emerge when someone hovers a cursor over that link," she wrote.
At first, Sophos noted that primary exploiters of the loophole were using it for "fun and games," but the exploit spread rapidly and began directing some users to pornography sites, reports McCarthy.
The exploit was eventually used to "auto-tweet" more mouseover links, affecting thousands of users.
The hack only appeared to affect visitors to Twitter.com. Various third-party programs used to send and read tweets appeared to be unaffected.
(CBS/AP) Reggie Bush may be tough, but the New Orleans Saints running back is no match for a broken fibula.
The 25-year-old is looking at a six-week hiatus after breaking the right, lower leg bone Sunday in a game against the 49ers.
"It hurt like hell," he said. "When I got back up and tried to walk on it, it felt terrible."
Bush had trouble catching the ball at windy Candlestick Park in San Francisco. He dove for the ball and players landed on him.
"I tried to recover it and somebody took my leg out," he said. "I don't know who it was, what happened or how it happened."
The fibula is the smallest bone of the four bones in the leg. It is generally immobilized in a cast to facilitate healing, which usually takes about six weeks. Some sports commentators have suggested he could be back within four. In either case, he is expected to return this season.
In Monday's much-awaited 'Dancing with the Stars' premiere, Bristol Palin, daughter of former vice presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, performed with partner Mark Ballas.
Bristol Palin began dressed in a modest business suit much like her mother would wear. But that was subsequently ripped off to reveal a red-fringed dress as the pair began their dance to Three Dog Night's "Mama Told Me Not to Come."
Palin, "just a regular girl," admits that she has not always taken her mother's advice.
"I've always listened to my mom growing up, but there have been times that I haven't, so this song is kind of a play off of that," CBS reported.
The duo received 18 out of 30 points for their "very acceptable" her performance and now sits comfortably in the middle of the competition. The ABC-TV show pairs professional dancers with celebrities.
Sarah Palin watched from a viewing party in Alaska, tweeting a photo of family watching and writing, "Over-the-moon excited and happy for Bristol! Cheering her on @DWTS party in the Palin living room."
Entertainment Weekly reported on ratings for the evening:
NFL Power rankings can be a joy to look at when your team is winning, and rather painful when your team is losing. Our roundup of the weekly power rankings heading into week 3 sees the Dallas Cowboys tumble badly in the rankings.
Overall, it's been a bad start to the season for all NFC East teams. Our ranking summary gives the Cowboys, Giants and Redskins virtually identical middle-of-the-pack ratings, while the Eagles enjoy a slight lead thanks to the lone NFC East win last weekend, over no lesser team than the mighty Detroit Lions.
As usual, the rankings table includes our next opponent, the Houston Texans.
NEW YORK — New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated after officers pulled him over because the windows on his SUV were too tinted, police said.
Officers on the lookout for vehicle violations like excessive tinting or missing registration stickers pulled over Edwards' Land Rover on Manhattan's west side around 5:15 a.m. and noticed a strong smell of alcohol, said chief NYPD spokesman Paul Browne.
Edwards was given a breath test at the scene and another at a police station. His blood alcohol level was .16, twice the legal limit, officials said. There were four other people in the SUV at the time.
In January, Edwards was placed on probation for 18 months after pleading no contest to misdemeanor aggravated disorderly conduct in Cleveland for punching a friend of NBA star LeBron James outside a nightclub. He was traded by the Browns to the Jets two days after the October nightclub encounter.
Edwards' lawyer, Peter M. Frankel, declined to comment as he awaited the player's arraignment. A call to his agent wasn't returned.
Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said Edwards showed poor judgment.
"We are very disappointed in Braylon's actions this morning," Tannenbaum said in a statement. "We are reviewing the information with the league and will impose the appropriate disciplinary measures."
Tannenbaum noted the Jets have a special program in which a player who drinks can call for a driver to take him home.
Pending the outcome of the New York City case, Edwards may have to return Cleveland to face a possible probation violation, which could carry jail time. The Cleveland Municipal Court judge handling his case has been notified of his New York arrest, said court spokesman Ed Ferenc.
The NFL had no comment. Edwards could be in line for a suspension for violations of NFL policies on alcohol and on player conduct policy.
Edwards had a big game for the Jets in their 28-14 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, catching five passes, including a touchdown and a 2-point conversion. He was penalized for taunting — he danced in front of the defensive back covering him — after his 10-yard TD catch and coach Rex Ryan clearly wasn't happy on the sideline, shaking his head.
The former first-round pick out of Michigan in 2005 said during the Jets' playoff run last season that he wanted to finish his career in New York. Edwards signed a contract tender with the Jets in March worth $6.1 million, and will be a free agent after this season.
During his weekly spot on WFAN-AM on Tuesday morning, Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery said Edwards attended a Monday night event in support of Cotchery's nonprofit foundation benefiting underprivileged youth in Manhattan. Cotchery said several teammates were there, and the event ran from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Manhattan's west side.
It's not clear where Edwards was coming from when he was pulled over.

Kirsten Gillibrand is Senate’s “hottest member,” said Majority Leader Harry Reid.
During Reid’s address to the senate, he discussed how “many senators are known for many things. We in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member.” Although Reid went on to talk about Gillibrand’s political successes, the remark left a stir in the crowd and Gillibrand visibly embarrassed, said The Washington Post.
The strange comment may hurt Reid’s campaign against Republican challenger Sharron Angle.
Bernhardt:Sarah Bernhardt (born around October 23, 1844 – March 26, 1923), French stage and the beginning of an actress, and was named the “most famous actor in history”. Bernhardt made her fame stages of Europe in 1870, and soon the demand in Europe and America. It has developed a reputation as a serious dramatic actress, nicknamed “The Divine Sarah.”
Bernard was born in Paris, Rosin Bernardt, , illegitimate daughter of Julie Bernardt (1821 Amsterdam – 1876, Paris) and an unknown father. Julia was one of six children of a Jewish merchant travel widely sight, vision specialist, and petty criminal, Moritz Baruch Bernardt, and Sarah Hirsch (later known as Janetta Hartog) (about 1797-1829). Julie married Sarah Kinsbergen (1809-1878) two weeks after his death his first wife and abandoned his family in 1835. Julie moved to Paris, where he earned his living as a courtesan, and was known as “Yal”. Sarah would add the letter “H”, as her name. Sarah’s birth records were lost during a fire in 1871, but in order to prove the French nationality, required for the Legion of Honor law, it created a false birth certificate, on which she was a daughter, Judith van Hard “and” Edward Bernardt ” from Le Havre, in the later stories, or a student-lawyer, accountant, midshipmen and naval officer.
As the presence of a child prevented a terrible and stressful life of his mother, Sarah was brought up in retirement, and then a convent. The child, poor health, she believes, has become a nun, but one of the famous lovers of her mother, the future Duke de Morny, half of Napoleon III, his brother, decided that it should be an actress. When she was 13, he arranged for her to enter the conservatory, government-sponsored school of acting. It is not regarded as particularly promising student, and, although she revered some of her teachers, she thought Conservatory methods as outdated and too deeply steeped in tradition.
Much of the uncertainty of life Bernhardt arises due to its tendency to exaggerate and distort. Alexander Dumas described it as a known liar.

UNITED NATIONS: The outside world cannot foot the entire bill for Pakistan's recovery from devastating floods and the Pakistani government must do more, US special envoy Richard Holbrooke said Monday.
The day after world donors raised aid pledges to almost two billion dollars, Holbrooke said the eventual cost of the monsoon disaster could run into the “tens of billions of dollars.”
“The international community will not be able to pick up the full cost of reconstruction,” Holbrooke said.
“There will be a need for continued international assistance, but what we need to stress is that at a time of scarcity in other countries, a reconstruction effort cannot be financed completely by other countries.
The US envoy called on the Pakistani government to redouble its efforts to help the 21 million people the UN estimates have been affected by the disaster, including 12 million needing emergency food aid.
“They have to take the lead. Pakistanis know they have to do more and how much they do remains to be seen, and what the needs are remain to be seen,” Holbrooke said.
USAID chief Rajiv Shah warned Monday that the risk of diseases such as cholera is increasing as people return to their homes.
“The first and most critical priority is to prevent the spread of water-borne illnesses,” Shah said.
“In a flood of this magnitude, even as the flood waters recede, the likelihood of water-borne illness and cholera... actually increase as people go back to their homes but do not have effective and safe sanitation environments, and water doesn't completely recede.”
WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama said on Monday that Iran having a nuclear weapon would be a “real problem” but he did not think military action by Israel or the United States was the “ideal way” to solve the crisis.
The United Nations Security Council, along with the United States and the European Union, have imposed tougher sanctions on Iran, which has defied international calls for it to halt uranium enrichment.
Iran says it needs the enriched uranium for the peaceful generation of electricity, but the United States and its allies, including Israel, fear Tehran's nuclear program is a cover to build an atomic bomb.
“We continue to be open to diplomatic solutions to resolve this,” Obama told a town-hall style meeting on CNBC.
“We don't think that a war between Israel and Iran or military options would be the ideal way to solve this problem.
But we are keeping all our options on the table,” he said.
US military commanders have also warned that US or Israeli military strikes against Iran could spark retaliatory action by Tehran and proxy groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza strip that could destabilize the region. -Reuters

Ecu Football, The football team of the Central University has rarely left a feeling of loss as good about his future as the Tigers did after dropping a 20-7 decision Saturday to the sixth ranked Texas A & M-Kingsville. But this week’s opponent, the fifth-ranked Abilene Christian, has become a way of feeling good to bad in a hurry.
“We’re playing another great team,” said ECU head coach Tim McCarty, whose 0-2 team will face the 2-0 Wildcats at 6 pm Saturday at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. “It’s a computer that has a lot of weaknesses.” As the Tigers did not pass his first two events of the season, falling 45-23 at Fort Hays State before losing to TAMUK, took a big step forward – especially on defense – last week against a team coming off a season Opening discomfort former No. 1 Division II Northwest Missouri State. McCarty said he hopes to build on that momentum this week against an opponent in order of the Lone Star Conference South Division.
“We see it as an opportunity,” said McCarty. “We are very close.
“I like our team, and I like the future of Central Timor football a lot,” he said. “Once we have the pleasure of winning, I do not think we’re going backwards.”
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Massachusetts football team has played one Division I-A/Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team in 11 of the past 12 seasons.
In that time the Minutemen have been among the best programs in the Championship Subdivision (FCS) and the number of FCS over FBS upsets have increased, especially by Colonial Athletic Association teams.
But UMass has yet to add a high-profile head to its trophy wall. The Minutemen have suffered blowouts and heartbreakers, but the upset has remained elusive.
"You'd be lying to say it's just like any other game," senior linebacker Mike Mele said. "It's more motivation for us to work hard and try and win."
Unlike in some games between FCS and FBS teams, the Minutemen won't be at a big disadvantage size wise. UMass' offensive and defensive lines are both similar in size to their Wolverine counterparts. But whether its talent can match up is another issue all together. At No. 20, Michigan isn't the highest ranked FBS team UMass has faced but it certainly has the highest profile.
Michigan knows enough to be upset wary. Appalachian State, then the defending FCS champions, knocked off the Wolverines in 2007.
"People are seeing in the past several years how competitive these games are. They're getting more so every year," Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said. "We certainly see how competitive it's going to be. We're not good enough to play poorly against anybody and win. It's going to be a huge game for them, but every game is a huge game for us. UMass is a very good FCS school and it has our players attention."
